I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the holiday season is a great time to brighten the lives of some less privileged youngsters in your community.
The holidays can be a really hard time for kids in families that are 'financially challenged.' It is hard on kids who don't have much to see other kids getting presents. And during these rough economic times there will be more holiday hardships than usual.
Try a google search for "toy drive" and the name of your city. Or, there's always Toys For Tots the perennial gifting foundation started by the Marines.
So, take a moment to think about those with less and make a kid's holiday happier. It'll make you happier, too!
If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, as I do, the Santa's Helpers Toy Drive, run by WFAA-TV, has been brightening Christmases for kids for 39 years. They collected and delivered over 78,000 toys in the D/FW area last year.
One sponsor of Santa's Helpers is Chick-fil-a, so when my wife and I went to the downtown Fort Worth Santa's Helpers drop-off last night to make our donation I got my photo taken with the Chick-fil-a Cows:
